Travel Grants
for presenters from low- and middle-income countries
Travel Grant Applications will be accepted starting June 23, 2025.
Applicants will have to be from a low- and middle-income country as defined by the OECD.
General Information and Terms and Conditions
To facilitate participants from low- and middle-income countries who are unable to raise the necessary funds to attend the 9th WCRI, a limited number of grants are available to subsidize travel and accommodation costs.
- Travel grant applications will be accepted until October 15, 2025 and must be accompanied by proof of citizenship, proof of work or student status, a short CV/resume, a letter of support and an explanation of motivation.
- Flights (economy class) to Vancouver (YVR) and up to 4 nights of accommodation for travel grant recipients will be covered by the grant and will be booked by the Conference Secretariat.
- Registration fees will be waived for all travel grant recipients – a registration code will be provided upon acceptance of the application. Tickets for social events or workshops are not included and can be booked at cost.
- Please note that airport and hotel transfers, travel insurance and meals outside the conference are not covered.
- Applicants for travel grants must be a citizen of or have their main affiliation in a low- and middle-income country and explain the reason for the need for funds in the motivation letter.
- Recipients must be the presenting author of an accepted abstract of an oral or poster presentation.
- Only complete travel grant applications will be considered.
- Applicants will be informed of the decision by the end of January 2026 at the latest. Acceptance of the travel grant will need to be provided by February 15 at the latest.
- All notifications will be sent to the email address provided on the travel grant application.
- The decisions of the WCRI Travel Grant Review Committee are final.
